GLP-1 Support Programthe part that makes it work
Medication reduces appetite. It does not plan your meals, protect your muscle, manage your side effects or hold the result when you stop. This programme does — with or without a prescription.
Three ways people arrive here
The programme is the same. What differs is where you are starting from.
Eight components, weekly
Not a PDF and a phone number. Each of these is an actual recurring contact with a named person.
- 01Weekly diet reviewYour dietitian reads what you actually ate, not what was planned. Portions, protein and timing are adjusted week to week rather than handed over once.
- 02Lifestyle coachingSleep, stress and routine drive appetite as much as any meal plan. Coaching targets the ones that are working against you.
- 03Habit formationTwo or three small changes at a time, tracked and reinforced, instead of a wholesale overhaul that lasts three weeks.
- 04Exercise planningMovement built around your joints, your fitness and your week — with resistance work prioritised to protect muscle.
- 05WhatsApp supportA named coordinator between appointments, for the questions that come up on a Tuesday evening rather than at a review.
- 06Progress monitoringWeight, inches, body composition and health markers. Four measures, because weight alone hides what is happening.
- 07Side-effect guidancePractical management of nausea, reflux and constipation — meal size, timing, hydration and when to ask for the dose to be held.
- 08Safe discontinuationA planned taper with a maintenance strategy, rather than stopping and hoping.
Why muscle is the number we watch
Lean mass is what keeps your metabolic rate up. Lose weight fast without adequate protein and resistance training and a meaningful share of it is muscle — which makes regain both easier and more likely. Your dietitian sets protein targets against your own body weight and reviews them as you go.
What this programme is not
It is not a prescribing service. We do not supply or dispense GLP-1 medication through it. If you want medication assessed, that is a separate medical consultation with its own eligibility checks.
What the first months actually look like
Weekly contact early, widening as things hold. The maintenance phase is where it keeps going.
- 01
Baseline
Full dietetic assessment, body composition, current medication and routine. Targets are set here.
Week 1 - 02
First adjustments
Diet review, protein and hydration corrected, resistance training introduced at whatever level you can hold.
Weeks 2–3 - 03
Weekly reviews
Plan adjusted against what actually happened. Side effects addressed as they appear, not at the next monthly slot.
Ongoing - 04
Monthly measures
Body composition and health markers re-checked. Muscle mass is watched as closely as weight.
Every 4 weeks - 05
Maintenance
Frequency widens as things hold. Support continues into the phase most programmes stop at.
Month 4+
Medication and support do different jobs
This is not an argument against medication. It is what medication does not cover.
| GLP-1 medication alone | Support programme | |
|---|---|---|
| Appetite reduction | Medication does this directly | Programme works with whatever appetite you have |
| Muscle protection | Not addressed by medication | Protein targets and resistance training, tracked |
| Side-effect management | Needs clinical input | Practical guidance week to week |
| Behaviour and routine | Unchanged by the drug | The main focus |
| What happens on stopping | Appetite and weight commonly return | Taper plus a maintenance plan |
| Prescription required | Yes | No |
Coming off, on purpose
Appetite returns when medication stops, and weight commonly returns with it. That is the drug wearing off, not a failure of resolve — and it is entirely plannable.
- Tapered with your prescriber, never abrupt
- Protein and resistance training established before the taper begins
- Review frequency increases during the step-down, not after
- Restarting is a legitimate clinical option, discussed openly if regain starts
The support programme, answered
Do I need to be on medication to join?
No. Roughly a third of people on this programme take no medication at all. It was designed to work either way.
Do you prescribe or supply GLP-1 medicines through this programme?
No. This is a support programme only. If you want medication assessed, that is a separate medical consultation, and nothing is dispensed online.
I was prescribed elsewhere. Will you work with that?
Yes, and it is one of the most common reasons people join. We work alongside your prescriber rather than around them. Bring your current dose and prescribing details.
How often will I actually speak to someone?
A dietetic review each week, a fuller measurement review monthly, and your coordinator on WhatsApp in between. The cadence widens once things are stable.
Why does muscle matter so much?
Because lean mass is what holds your metabolic rate up. Losing weight rapidly without protein and resistance training means a meaningful share of the loss is muscle, which makes regain both easier and more likely.
What if the side effects are bad?
Tell us early. Most nausea and reflux respond to meal size, timing and hydration changes. If they do not, the answer is holding or reducing the dose with your prescriber — not enduring it.
Can you help me come off medication?
Yes, and this is the part of the programme we would most encourage you to use. Stopping abruptly without a plan is where most regain happens.
Will I get a fixed meal plan?
You will get a plan, but not a fixed one. It is rebuilt around your cuisine, budget and working hours, and adjusted weekly against what you actually ate.
Is this suitable if I have PCOS, thyroid issues or diabetes?
Usually yes, and often especially so, though these conditions change what the plan should look like. Flag them at your assessment.
How long does it run?
There is no fixed end. Reviews widen as things stabilise, and most people move to a lighter maintenance cadence rather than stopping outright.
What does it cost?
It depends on the review frequency you need. We set it out clearly before you start, with no obligation.
What if I am not losing weight?
Then something in the plan is wrong, and finding out what is the job. Plateaus are normal and expected; a plateau that will not move is a signal to reassess, including whether an underlying condition is driving it.
